Riding Donkeys- Back Entrance to Little Petra

On our second day at Petra we were pressed for time, but really wanted to see the Monastery. We had heard of the back entrance but were worried it would take too long. We opted to take the 20JDN jeep ride part of the way in in order to skip the 8 km hike. We then chose to take the donkeys instead of waiting for Raven to climb/hike up the kilometres of stairs. This got us very close to the Monastery and Raven was able to hike the rest of the way in without taking hours. This meant we beat much of the traffic in and had some serene viewing before the crowds showed up. It also gave us time to climb down the over 800 stairs to the main Petra site and out the main entrance before we had to drive to Wadi Rum.
