Learn how to make perfect bakery-style cream rolls at home with crispy, golden puff pastry filled with smooth, creamy filling. This step-by-step recipe shows you how to prepare the dough, laminate it with margarine, shape into cones, bake to golden perfection, and fill with delicious cream.

These cream rolls are crispy outside, creamy inside — a bakery classic that everyone will love! 💖


📝 Ingredients (Makes 12-15 Cream Rolls)

For Puff Dough

All-purpose flour (maida) – 250 g

Powder Sugar – 50 g

Salt – 5 g

Puff margarine  – 15 g

Water – 150 ml

Puff margarine (for lamination) – 75 g + 75 g = 150 g

For Cream Filling

Cookie margarine – 200 g

Powdered sugar – 100 g


👩‍🍳 Method

1. Dough Preparation

In a bowl, mix maida, sugar, salt, and 15 g puff margarine .

Add water gradually and knead into a soft but firm dough.

Cover and rest for 15 minutes.

2. Laminating the Dough

Roll dough into a rectangle, apply 75 g puff margarine evenly.

Fold and cover, rest for 15 minutes.

Repeat with remaining 75 g margarine.

Cover and rest for 15 minutes

Roll again, fold book-style (4-fold), refrigerate 1–2 hours.

3. Shaping the Rolls

Roll dough into a thin sheet (4–5 mm).

Cut into long strips (about 1 inch wide).

Brush strips lightly with water.

Wrap each strip around metal cream roll cones.

Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

4. Baking

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crisp.

Let cool completely before filling.

5. Cream Filling

In a bowl, add cookie margarine and powdered sugar.

Beat for 8–10 minutes until light, creamy, and fluffy.

Fill cooled pastry rolls with cream.


⭐Tips

Chill the dough properly between laminations for flaky layers.

Don’t overfill the cream rolls while piping — keep it neat.

Use chilled margarine for best lamination results.
