You might have heard of bstreetsmart but for those who haven't, bstreetsmart is a multi-award winning road safety event aimed at year 10-12 students across Australia and assists teachers to deliver the Risk/Consequences section of the PDHPE Syllabus. This event isn't just for school kids, but anyone who is learning to drive or wants to understand more about road saftey.

bstreetsmart’s primary objective is to reduce the fatality and injury rates of young people by promoting safe behaviour. The entire program is structured to be relevant, engaging and at the same time educational.

2020 is bstreetsmart’s 16th year in operation. In April 2005, as part of Westmead Hospital's Trauma Week, 450 students from 10 schools attended. In September 2019, over 23,250 students attended from 209 schools.

The bstreetsmart team were hoping that NSW would be through the Covid-19 restrictions by now. Under the circumstances, we feel the events industry will be the last industry to have restrictions lifted and have, therefore, made the difficult decision to change bstreetsmart 2020 from an 'Excursion' to an 'Online Incursion'. This means that all schools around Australia have the ability to now experience bstreetsmart for the first time!

How Will This Happen?

Our plan is to still produce the bstreetsmart live event but in a 'TV' format. The speakers will be live in a studio and some vision (such as the crash scenario) will be pre-recorded. There will be an opportunity for students to interact and ask questions live (more information coming on how that will occur). Once you register your interest, we will send you a link so you can log on and experience bstreetsmart Online and Live. We will be splitting the usual 3 hour day format into 3 x one hour sessions on three Tuesdays in August:

When Will This Happen?
Tuesday 11 August at 10am OR 2pm - Session 1 (same session at 10am and at 2pm)
Tuesday 18 August at 10am OR 2pm - Session 2 (same session at 10am and at 2pm)
Tuesday 25 August at 10am OR 2pm - Session 3 (same session at 10am and at 2pm)

As this is a new venture for us, these 3 one hour sessions will be FREE to all schools and viewers!

So we are inviting you to arrange internally with your schools for you and your students to attend online on the above dates at either 10am or 2pm!
