The country's housing sector is going through a recession. In the past one year, bookings and sales of small and medium-sized flats have decreased by 25 percent. And sales of luxury flats have decreased by up to 50 percent. The real estate business organization REHAB blames the DAP law ((Dhaka Metropolitan Area Plan)) as the reason for this situation. In addition, REHAB also blames the economic recession, political instability and high interest rates on loans.
