In this verse, Krishna explains the eternal truth of creation. All living beings whether human, animal, bird, or plant come into existence through material nature (Prakriti). Just like a mother provides the body to the child, material nature provides the physical form and environment for every living entity.

But Krishna makes it clear that while nature acts as the mother, He is the father the ultimate source of life. The soul, the spark of consciousness within each being, is placed into the material body by Krishna’s divine will. Without His seed of consciousness, matter remains lifeless.

This teaching emphasizes two important points:

Unity of Life – Since all beings are children of the same Supreme Father, there is a natural bond that connects every living entity. Hatred, discrimination, and exploitation lose meaning when we see others as brothers and sisters under the same divine source.

God as the Supreme Cause Science may explain the process of reproduction and growth, but the origin of consciousness, the spark of life, comes only from the Supreme. No one can artificially create life from dead matter because it is Krishna who places the soul within.
