Bought a 1999 Mazda B2500 (Ford Ranger) as a result of my old truck being totaled. It's having an occasional idle issue where it jumps to 3000 rpm, and then after coming to a complete stop it dies back down.

So I pull the throttle body assembly, disconnect the idle air control valve and clean both out. This covers both of those processes.

And an update on this, it did not solve the idle problem. So that either leaves that IACV needing replaced, or possibly an issue with the throttle position sensor.
