I recently got to work on the first part of a mandala sleeve for an awesome client. Mandalas can be tricky - especially on the hand - and they require 100% perfect linework and symmetry.

In this timelapse, you'll see me shading with a round liner tattoo needle - a technique called stipple shading (it pairs really well with geometric tattoo designs). Pro Tip: Stippling is a little different from Dotwork - but it usually makes sense to use them together, especially when you're creating depth in a geometric mandala. Learn how to do that here:    • Back To Basics | Shading Tutorial | Week 3
