The Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH) Improvement and Innovation Showcase brings together teams from across the health system to connect, share and explore their experiences of working towards better healthcare for all South Australians.

The theme of the 11th Series of the Showcase is Strengthening healthcare workplace wellbeing in South Australia.

Creating excellence in workplace wellbeing, what does it look like?

Since its inception in 2020, the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH) has recognised that workforce are critical to the effectiveness and sustainability of the healthcare system and, ultimately, patient outcomes. CEIH are committed to ensuring the health system is designed to prioritise, protect and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of the healthcare workforce to enable the delivery of efficient, effective and high-quality patient care.

Katie and Isla share how CEIH has engaged with leaders and analysed data to describe the current state of workplace wellbeing in the SA health sector. Having applied the global evidence base of workforce wellbeing in healthcare to the current state in SA, hear about key opportunities for action in SA plus a range of resources available to assist the SA healthcare sector in strengthening workplace wellbeing.

Katie Billing has more than 20 years experience in health care and nursing leadership across acute, emergency and aged care and has led the current strategic focus on workplace wellbeing in SA.

Isla Woidt has worked in workplace health and wellbeing for over 15 years and has been involved in the design and delivery of some of SA’s largest workplace wellbeing programs across a range of sectors.
