My first time hiking up Snowdon. The Ranger path is a beautiful quiet route with stunning views. We started the walk at 6am on a Monday morning and we reached the summit in just under 4 hours (we took it steady to take in the views and have regular breaks). We did not have to queue for the summit, however if you hike Snowdon on a weekend or during school holidays you are likely to have to queue. We arrived before the Snowdon mountain railway train dropped off it's first carriage of passengers and the cafe opened shortly after, around 10am. I highly recommend this route for first timers and anyone looking for a quieter route up this beautiful mountain. We descended down the Llanberis path which was not very interesting and it was a long walk down. Perhaps the Rhyd Ddu path would have been a better option.
