Big Country - Interview Special, 1983.

My good friend Denise Hayward is the owner of a rare Big Country US Radio LP - from DIR Broadcasting Corporation.
It is a radio show featuring an interview by the BBC's US correspondent Paul Gambaccini with Stuart, Bruce and Mark of Big Country while on their first US Tour in late 1983.

Interspersed throughout the half hour special are four songs - In A Big Country, Harvest Home and two live songs from the band's recorded show at The Ritz in New York on September 10 of 1983 (originally broadcast on US Radio in October, 1983) - Fields of Fire and, if you read the cue sheet in the picture throughout the video, a new song called 'At Once.'

The album tracks aren't presented in this clip as they're simply the regular recordings but after the interview portion, the two live songs are.

Stuart's broad Scottish accent was obviously too much for the desk clerk assigned with coming up with the cue sheet and song selection and they have likely mis-heard Stuart's introduction, "This is Inwards" as "This is At Once"! They've frantically checked the album and singles, found no such song exists with that title, therefore it must be a new recording!

A huge thanks to Den who spawned the idea of making a video then providing the video footage - coupled with the interview portion of the disc.
