Join us for an unforgettable evening in Singapore as we indulge in a luxurious buffet dinner at Town Restaurant, located within the stunning and historic Fullerton Hotel Singapore! This isn't just a meal; it's an experience steeped in history and elegance, right by the beautiful Singapore River.

Before we even dive into the incredible food spread, let's appreciate the magnificent building itself. The Fullerton Hotel is more than just a 5-star luxury hotel; it's a gazetted National Monument! Named after Robert Fullerton, the first Governor of the Straits Settlements, the Fullerton Building's construction spanned from 1924 to 1928. For decades, it played a crucial role in Singapore's development, housing the General Post Office (GPO), the Chamber of Commerce, The Exchange, and even an exclusive club. After an incredible S$400-million, two-year restoration, it reopened its doors in 2001 as the heritage hotel we see today – a breathtaking example of preserving history.

Nestled within this iconic landmark is Town Restaurant, known for taking guests on a "global gastronomic journey." Their focus is on refined international flavours, blending the best of East and West, with a fantastic selection of Western dishes, Asian favourites, and fresh seafood.

We made our dinner reservation via the Amex Concierge service and were thrilled to get a table with idyllic views overlooking the Singapore River – watching the city lights twinkle on the water definitely added to the magic! Town Restaurant is famous for its buffets, and while they offer tempting add-ons like free-flowing champagne and spirits, we decided to focus purely on the incredible food spread tonight.

From fresh seafood to various international delights, the variety was impressive. A definite highlight was the live Laksa station – you know we had to try that! Rich, aromatic broth made fresh – absolutely delicious. The dessert selection was equally tempting, featuring international sweets alongside local classics like Chendol, which was the perfect refreshing end to the savoury dishes.

Our evening didn't end with dinner! We took some time afterwards to wander through the majestic lobby of The Fullerton Hotel, admiring the grand architecture and elegant interior decor. We also popped into their gift shop, which offers unique heritage and cultural artworks – much more interesting than typical souvenirs. And here’s a little secret we discovered – there's actually an underground tunnel connecting the hotel directly to the One Fullerton precinct across the road, leading towards the Marina Bay waterfront!

Seeing The Fullerton Hotel illuminated at night is just as breathtaking as its daytime grandeur. This dinner at Town Restaurant truly combined delicious food, impeccable ambiance, and a deep dive into Singapore's rich heritage.
