What to expect with SpaceX's Starship Flight 6

Описание к видео What to expect with SpaceX's Starship Flight 6

SpaceX is preparing to launch its fourth Starship rocket of 2024 and its sixth in program history. The mission, dubbed Starship Flight 6, is set to liftoff from the Starbase facilities in Boca Chica Beach, Texas, no earlier than Tuesday, November 19 at 4 p.m. CST (5 p.m. EST, 2200 UTC).

SpaceX is looking to repeat the success seen during Flight 5 and catch its Super Heavy booster, tail number B13, using its launch tower nicknamed 'Mechazilla.' At the end of the suborbital flight, the Ship upper stage, tail number S31, will splash down in the waters of the Indian Ocean. SpaceX pushed the liftoff time to the afternoon to allow an opportunity to see the splashdown of S31 in daylight conditions.

Spaceflight Now spoke with NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik about what the Astronaut Office is looking to see with this mission and how Flight 6 will help continue the path towards the Moon landing during the upcoming Artemis 3 mission.
