Today we make the Trader's Vic's Mai Tai Daiquiri. The earliest I could find this recipe was from 1964 in the Passport to Trader Vic's Exotic Cocktails. It shows up again in a newspaper article in 1967 but as far as I can tell, those are the only 2 places this recipe is shared. But it does appear that the main rerason this recipe never took off was because it's nothing special. This is just a frozen version of "Trader Vic's Daiquiri" with a rum swap. Instead of light rum, he used his Mai Tai brand rum. Was this just a recipe to try to sell more rum, or was it something special and inventive? I'll leave that to you to decide.

📝 Recipe 📝
1 oz lime juice (30 ml)
¾ oz grapefruit juice (22.5 ml)
½ oz Maraschino liqueur (15 ml)
2 oz Mai Tai rum (60 ml) I used Appleton 12 and Worthy Park 109
1 tsp sugar
1 ½ cups cracked or nugget ice or 10 oz shaved ice.
