Vertical vs Horizontal Spool: Which One Should You Use | Seams Too True EP 7

Описание к видео Vertical vs Horizontal Spool: Which One Should You Use | Seams Too True EP 7

Most spools of thread are wound one of two ways: parallel (also called stacked) or crisscross. The thread will come off of each type of spool differently. How you position your thread onto your sewing machine will depend on how it is wound.

As a beginner, I didn't think much about the fact that there were two ways to load a spool of thread (horizontal pin vs vertical pin). I didn't even notice there were different ways to wound thread. It wasn't until I got deeper into my sewing journey that I noticed the difference and looked into the reasoning.

• Parallel (aka Stacked) = Vertical Pin... so that thread comes off the Sides.

• Crisscross = Horizontal Pin for small spools or Vertical Pin/Cone Holder/Jar for large spools... as long as thread comes off the Ends.
