The National Centre for Combustion Research and Development (NCCRD) was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, on October 13.2017

The Centre is supported by the Science and Engineering Research Board of the Union Department of Science and Technology (DST). .

The centre will focus on effective utilization of combustion as a means of thermo-chemical energy conversion, These will be accomplished by creating a knowledge network with other institutional combustion researchers and industry collaboration in the field of automotive, thermal power and aerospace propulsion.
