Heidi Whitlock was born into an upper class, wealthy family to two very prestigious parents. Her father was absent majority of her life, only home for brief periods of time, due to his successful business company, leaving her to be cared for by her mother and many nannies. Growing up with such successful lineage may seem like something to die for, but it isn't as flawless as it looks. Heidi was under constant pressure from her mother to be nothing but perfect, constantly bombarding her with insults and criticism, ultimately leaving Heidi unable to express herself freely. Throughout her life, Heidi experienced gender dysphoria, but confused it with just being "insecure". Some days it would be just the constant nagging in the back of her head that her body isn't reflecting her true gender, and other days she couldn't even stand to look at herself in the mirror, the Dysphoria could be so intense that it interfered with the way she functioned in life. (for instance, at school or during social activities)

Heidi was very good at hiding her dysphoria, until one day her life changed in an instant. Her day started out as any other day, but when Heidi returned home from school her mother forced her to recite her violin for her and Heidi's father. She played her best, but had a few minor slip ups.

Later, at dinner, her mother was irritated. That irritation escalated and quickly turned into her mother saying very harmful and emotionally abusive things to Heidi. Heidi, not wanting to embarrass herself in front of her father, quickly sucked back her tears and hid in the bathroom.
In the middle of the night when Heidi's parents were asleep, Heidi decided to text one of her guy friends. He wanted to come over to "chill" and she was hesitant to accept. Heidi was confused at this point. She knew she wasn't attracted to boys whatsoever, but she felt as if she "needed" to be attracted to them to prevent her family from disowning her. She sucked up her disgust and tried to force herself to like this boy. After Heidi went into the bathroom, she felt nothing but regret and was slowly sinking into depression. She hated what she saw in the mirror and wanted nothing but to be someone else. Deep inside, she knew that she was a boy, but was too afraid to express her true gender in fear of backlash. All the pressure from her mother was exhausting her, and Heidi only wished to tell her family how she really felt. She spent the rest of the night crying.

The next day, Heidi put on her usual "mask" and hid all of her anxiety and sadness, and acted like the perfect doll her mother wanted. After inviting over her best friend Jade for a study date, Heidi vented to Jade. After telling her everything Jade comforted Heidi, but one thing led to another and they kissed.

They ended up in the closet, but that's when Heidi's mother walked in. She was infuriated and disgusted, her homophobia evident on her voice. She screamed at Heidi and made Jade leave, forbidding her to ever hang out with her again. Heidi's mother threatened to send her to a conversion camp to "fix her", and that's when Heidi had it. She stormed to her room and contemplated everything, from her life, sexuality, and gender. She had enough of her mother preventing her happiness, so she decided to let her have it.

Heidi went and changed into her actual preferred style of clothes and then went down stairs and confronted her family. She told her mother everything. Heidi came out and told her mother that her gender isn't female, that she's transgender and identifies as a male. From that point on, he would identify as his true gender, and his name would be changed to Hayden. Contrary to his mother, His father supported him and always would.
