Distribution of Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and Families in Calbayog City(Speech)

Continuing the Administration's efforts to empower the agricultural sector, promote livelihoods and strengthen economic stability, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the distribution of assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and their families in a program at the Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU) in Calbayog City, Samar on 4 July 2024.

The President is extending monetary support amounting to:
PhP10,000 each to select ten (10) beneficiaries from the Provinces of Samar, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar;
PhP50 million to the Provincial Government of Samar;
PhP19.3 million to the Provincial Government of Eastern Samar; and
PhP25.9 million to the Provincial Government of Northern Samar

In addition, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provides PhP10,000 each to its 8,930 beneficiaries while the Office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez gives 10 kilos of rice to each event attendee.

The event also sees the distribution of various government assistance from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC).
