Srivathsan is a graded artiste of the All India Radio, Chennai and is a regular performer in the sabhas in and around Chennai and elsewhere. He has been blessed with the Asthana Vidwan honours and the award Sangeetha Vidya Bala Baskhara by the Ahobila Mutt. He has also sung in most of the popular Sabhas in India, including Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, Brahma Gana Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, The Music Academy, Shanmukhananda (Mumbai), Kalasagaram (Hyderabad), RK Srikantan Trust (Bengaluru).
Aside from his musical pursuits, Srivathsan is an engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology Trichy and is also a setter of cryptic crosswords for the national daily The Hindu.
