KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES – The Birth of ENGLAND?

I’m in the Borough of Kingston-Upon-Thames to explore this Ancient Market Town and its Historic Landmarks. Situated on the Banks of the River Thames, Kingston’s earliest mention is from ACE 838 as the Site of a Meeting between King Egbert of Wessex and Ceolnoth, Archbishop of Canterbury. The Town lay on the Boundary between the Ancient Kingdoms of Wessex and Mercia until the early 10th Century when King Athelstan united both to create the Kingdom of England! Join me as I take a Wander around the Town looking at some of its Historic Gems and finishing off with Lunch at The Bishop by Kingston Bridge.
