A court hearing is underway: a federal judge (Karin Immergut) rejected the Trump administration’s request to lift an injunction blocking National Guard troop deployment to Portland.

Also: Clark County, Washington officials are questioning why three protesters arrested in Portland were transported across state lines to their jail in Vancouver, WA.

Current state & risk assessment

Right now, protest activity in Portland appears relatively calm, especially compared to earlier clashes: the large march was mostly peaceful; the later ICE facility confrontation had some force used by federal agents, but did not result in mass arrests on the 21st.

The legal battle over federal/troop deployment remains active and could alter the dynamics of protest + enforcement in the coming days.

For someone in Portland: keep an eye on the South Waterfront (ICE facility area) and downtown waterfront as potential flash-points if protests resurge or enforcement escalates.

Stay alert for disruptions to traffic, public transit, and potential use of crowd control measures (tear gas, pepper balls) in areas where protesters gather.
