__ About the Video __
The Bosch CX Gen 5 is the successor to the successful Bosch CX Gen 4 motor. The new motor shows only minor technical changes compared to its predecessor. It retains the same maximum torque of 85 Nm, 600 watts of peak power, and 340% support. In terms of weight, the motor has been reduced by 100 grams to 2.8 kg, making it slightly lighter than the Gen 4.

One significant improvement is the reduction in noise levels: the annoying rattling from the previous model has been eliminated, and the motor's hum has been noticeably quieter. The new CX motor offers improved responsiveness, especially when starting and in technical terrain, thanks to new sensors that measure position and acceleration.

On the test bench, there were few performance differences between the Gen 5 and Gen 4 motors, but the new motor lasts longer under heavy load before reducing power due to heat (derating). The energy consumption of the new model is also slightly lower, which is particularly beneficial on inclines.

Overall, Bosch has focused on evolution rather than revolution with this model. The core strengths of the previous motor have been retained, with minor improvements in noise reduction and responsiveness. Those who value future-proofing may opt for the new Bosch CX, as it is ready for future updates. However, those satisfied with the Gen 4 may find good deals on the older motor.
