“The rhetoric of (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelenskyy and many representatives of the Kyiv regime in general leaves much to be desired. Representatives of the Ukrainian regime, especially in recent months, often allow themselves to make statements about the heads of other states that are completely unacceptable. Of course, many heads of state, who are targeted by such statements, find them absolutely unacceptable. And the fact that Zelenskyy's approval rating is falling is an absolutely obvious trend. It is hardly possible to argue with this.”

“In terms of the (Ukrainian) settlement itself, there are still few specifics. Here we need to be a little patient. We see that there are certain disagreements between Washington and Kyiv. The Kyiv regime has grown accustomed to uncontrolled parasitism. It likes foreign taxpayers’ money, it likes the uncontrolled use of this money. And the Kyiv regime certainly doesn’t like to somehow account for the money already spent. This is also an indisputable fact.”

“This is a matter of concern to us, because we are talking about sending military contingents, about the possible, eventual sending of military contingents of NATO countries, the North Atlantic Alliance, to Ukraine. This takes on a completely different meaning in terms of our security. Therefore, this topic is important for us, we are monitoring it very closely. I would like to remind you of the words of our Minister of Foreign Affairs, that, of course, the deployment of military contingents of countries that are NATO members on the territory of Ukraine cannot be acceptable to us.”

“A decision was made to begin resuming the Russian-American dialogue on all parameters. Of course, this topic (prisoner exchange) is on the agenda of our bilateral relations, so this cannot be ruled out."

STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Thursday criticized Ukraine's rhetoric as leaving "much to be desired."
Peskov slammed statements made about other heads of state as "unacceptable," as senior American and Russian officials prepared for talks on improving their ties and negotiating an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy trading barbs, Peskov said “the rhetoric of Zelenskyy and many representatives of the Kyiv regime in general leaves much to be desired.”
