Faux Limewash Pedestal DIY ↓

I found this wood veneer pedestal on FB Marketplace for only $40, and decided to give it a little facelift!

This project can be completed in an afternoon & requires basic supplies from any hardware store, or Amazon. Traditional limewash paint is pricey & takes awhile to ship, so I tried to recreate the look using regular paint & was surprised with the result! The key to giving it that gorgeous limewash effect is using a quality masonry brush & MATTE paint. Do not use satin, eggshell, or semigloss paint, as it will look shiny and that’s not the vibe ;)

SUPPLIES
Spray primer
Joint Compound
Putty Knife
Sanding Block
Matte White Paint
Matte Beige Paint (I used Folk Art Linen Toile)
Masonry Brush
2 Paint Trays

HOW TO
Prime your pedestal
Apply 1 layer of joint compound using a putty knife
Sand it down as smooth as possible
Pour each paint into their own tray
Dip into the white, then into your beige, and then apply to pedestal using the same motion you would use with real lime wash paint. Repeat & do as many layers until you achieve your desired result. I loved the coverage with 1 coat.
Seal with a matte sealer
