Jay Semko is an original member of one of my favourite bands, - The Northern Pikes! Jay is a great friend of Etcetera Live and it was an absolute pleasure to welcome him back alongside Pikes drummer - the mega talented Don Schmid. The guys were so interesting - warm, down to earth and such a pleasure to chat with! We chatted about music, life in general and of course - the Northern Pikes 10th studio album, 'Time To Time.' I absolutely LOVE this latest offering from the band which features seven of their classic hits brought to life in acoustic versions as well a three fantastic new songs.
The accoustic versions of classic Northern Pikes hits, including 'Girl With a Problem,' 'She Ain't Pretty,' and 'Snow in June,' are melodic, dreamy and just plain beautifully done. Like re-visiting an old freind with with a new haircut...Familiar, yet fresh!
