Water Filled Flood Tubes. Flood Barrier experiments using a liner

Описание к видео Water Filled Flood Tubes. Flood Barrier experiments using a liner

This is a great example of how you can use a liner of plastic over a flood barrier to prevent water from seeping under your barrier. In this example, we had 2 water filled flood tubes which are also commonly referred to as ‘diversion tubes’ which we spanned over a rocky, porous surface. One of these water tubes had a liner of plastic sheeting to prevent seepage and one did not. This example clearly shows the difference in seepage when using a liner over your flood defense barrier versus using no liner at all.

Are you looking at doing some DIY flood defense? You can use the technique of a plastic liner over a variety of materials. In this case, we were using a flood barrier but you could use a pile of dirt, bricks, or perhaps something you made using your carpentry skills. During times of flooding, if I had nothing more than plastic, I would be putting it over just about anything like flower pots, trash cans, or even yard furniture if I had to. Limitations apply but if you trying to protect yourself with limited resources, you still have options!!
