We tested the Bob & Brad D6 Pro with the Theragun Pro. Both of these massage guns are similar, but they have some differences. For this review, we compared the Generation 4 Theragun Pro that we have on hand. This massage gun has been updated with a Generation 5 model that’s available for purchase, too.

As far as similarities, they both are about the same size and weight. They are also well-powered and powerful. They have 16 mm amplitudes, which is the depth that the massage gun will dig into your muscles. It’s also referred to as the punch or stroke length. This is the highest amplitude available on massage guns, currently. They also both have high stall forces. The stall force is the amount of weight/pressure you can put behind the massage gun before the motor stalls. The Theragun Pro has a 60 lb stall force, while the D6 Pro has an 85 lb stall force. So, with either option, you’ll be able to really dig into your muscles to relieve tension.

They both have adjustable arms and multi-grip handles. These make it easier for you to reach hard-to-reach areas on your body. They both come with carrying cases, as well. The Bob & Brad D6 Pro comes with a hard-shell zipper case that fits everything included, well. The Gen 4 Theragun Pro comes with a hard-shell case, but everything doesn’t fit as well as the D6 Pro case. The new Gen 5 comes with a soft-shell case.

As far as differences, they both make noise, but the Bob & Brad is slightly quieter. The new Gen 5 Theragun has been updated with a new motor that is said to be quieter than the Gen 4 model though.

Each massage gun comes with different attachments to target certain areas of your body. Overall, we prefer the variety and quality of the Theragun’s attachments. They also have different speed settings for the percussive therapy. The D6 Pro has a slightly lower and higher range, however, the difference between the percussions per minute isn’t very noticeable.

Both have OLED screens. The D6 Pro is a bit more old-school. It has a few preset settings, but it comes with a booklet for guidance when using the massage gun. Both generations of the Theragun Pro are Bluetooth-enabled to connect with the Therabody App which provides guidance.

Overall, the Theragun Pro packs slightly more of a punch than the Bob & Brad D6 Pro. It has been around longer than the D6 Pro and can be used in commercial settings and on multiple users throughout the day. The D6 Pro is new and we’re a little unsure of its durability, however, this isn’t the first massage gun from Bob & Brad. The D6 Pro is cheaper, so if the Theragun Pro isn’t in your budget, then the D6 Pro is an excellent choice. They’re both really comparable and while the Theragun Pro feels slightly more powerful, you don’t notice much of a difference unless you’re using both massage guns side by side or you’re extremely familiar with percussive therapy.
