早在五年前录制《大鱼》时期，周深就尝试了《自己按门铃自己听》，然而高晓松对demo并不满意，所以这首歌就搁置了下来。期间高晓松也找过别人来试唱这首歌，都未能取得满意效果。经过五年的成长，周深又试唱了这首歌，终于取得高晓松的同意，在《歌手·当打之年》第十期现场演唱了这首歌，成为这首歌的首唱。周深在这一期第一个出场演唱，凭这首《自己按门铃自己听》取得当期第三名，并且直接晋级总决赛。

这首歌不同于周深以往的空灵抒情风格，是一首迷幻哥特风的歌曲：

“自己按门铃 自己听 自己茂盛了 自己凋零 自己的眼睛 自己的病 自己的狰狞 自己平静。。。”

5 five years ago, during the recording of "Big Fish", Zhou Shen tried "Ring the Doorbell and Listen to Myself", but Gao Xiaosong wasn't satisfied with the demo, so the song was stocked. Time flied, Gao Xiaosong also asked others to try the song, but they failed to met Gao's expectation. After five years of growth, Zhou Shen tried to sing the song again, and finally obtained the consent of Gao Xiaosong, sang live this song in Episode 10 of "Singer 2020" and released it as his single. Zhou Shen was the first performer in this episode, and he won 3rd place in this episode with "Ring the Doorbell and Listen to Myself" and directly advanced to the finals.

This song is different from Zhou Shen's previous ethereal and lyrical style. It is a psychedelic gothic song:

"I ring the doorbell, listen to myself, I am luxuriant, I am withered, my eyes, I am sick, I am hideous, I am calm..."
