As a practicing dentist, for over 20 years, and the creator of the popular Oral Care Website OralCare.Club I have often run into the request to suggest all-natural toothpastes. There are many people out there that are becoming more aware of the chemicals in their food and personal care products and they want to reduce them as much as possible. Toothpaste is one of those places where chemicals can be hidden in plain site and can have negative effects on your overall health. So the request for all-natural toothpastes is on the rise.

#5 Zane Hellas OregaWash toothpaste. This toothpaste is a pretty unique one. It has all of the trademarks that you would want from an all natural toothpaste. It has no fluoride, sls, or many of the other harmful chemicals popular in todays mas produced toothpastes. But it has one thing that none of the others have. It has Oregano oil. Oregano has been known for 100’s of years it antibacterial and healing properties. Both of which are fantastic for your mouth. The only negative I have to say about this is that you will taste the Oregano oil. If you are not used to Oregano taste in your toothpaste it can be a little off putting.

#4 Tom’s of Maine. We all know Tom’s of Maine as being a company that prides itself on making products as natural as it can. Their toothpaste is no different. Tom’s contains no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, and no preservatives. Tom’s is also proud of their non animal testing and corporate donation policies. The toothpaste tastes mildly of mint. It’s a fairly classic taste which may lead to kids not being super big fans of it but adults will love it.

#3 Squiggle. This tooth paste is the first on our list that is designed by an actual dentist. Squiggle is fantastic for anyone that may suffer from canker sores. SLS (sodium Lauryl Sulfate) can be fairly irritating to the gum tissue which can lead to canker sores. Without it the members of your family should see a reduction in mouth irritations. Squiggle is sweeter then the Tom’s and uses Xylitol for it’s sweetness. Squiggle does have Fluoride in it as that particular chemical is viewed by some to be helpful rather than harmful.

#2 Tanner’s Tasty Paste. This toothpaste was invented by a pediatric dentist. So this toothpaste is geared towards kids. And boy does it hit the mark! The taste of this toothpaste is out of this world! Many children won’t brush because they don’t like the flavor of their toothpaste. There is no way that is happening here. In fact, I would actually recommend hiding this from the kids after each use. It’s that good. And the wonderful part is that besides the good tastes it’s very natural. No saccharin, SLS, Sugar, artificial colors/flavors, AND is gluten free as well.

#1 Dr Ginger’s Coconut Oil Toothpaste. Coconut oil has been used for 100s of years to kill bacteria and heal abrasions. People use coconut oil pulling as constant source of keeping their mouth clean and fresh. Companies have come out with coconut oil mouthwash, floss and many other products. Well, Dr Ginger added the healthy essential oil to her toothpaste, and the results are fabulous. Fantastic all-natural mint and coconut flavor. All natural. Comes in recyclable friendly packaging. And these things, with many others, makes Dr Ginger’s Coconut Oil toothpaste my #1 ranked all-natural toothpaste.
