9/9/24Mon.3of5 Santa Fe Warbonnet's Paced from Keokuk to Ft. Madison IA. along the Mississippi River

Part 3 starts out near the BNSF Yard throat in Keokuk Iowa and progresses by some KJRY MOW and Keokuk Union Depot on the way out of town to begin the chase .
The Chase begins at the Keokuk Yacht Club along the shores of Lake Cooper on the Mississippi River and passes along a very scenic stretch of the Iowa side of The Great River Road with the State of ILL. as a backdrop .
The Chase passes through Sandusky, Galland, and Montrose Iowa and a siding at each before arriving in Ft. Madison . Heron Bend at Montrose and Linger Longer Comservation Area offer excellent views on the way into Ft. Madison .
Once in FM & just slightly ahead of them, I position myself just West of the old AT&SF Mission Style Depot, but along the old CB&Q K-LINE, Part of the Hannibal Sub between Burlington IA. & W. Quincy MO. .
There was a bit of traffic, and I wasn't able to 100% stick with the Warbonnet's through here, but in all it ain't bad !
Pace them through to the Willow Trees Access and catch a West bound BNSF general merchandise train coming across the MASSIVE BNSF Ft. Madison Swing-Span as the Santa Fe Warbonnet's approach me from the right and obscure the view ! I continue to image the Warbonnet's & train accelerate North out of FM. After a short shot of the access and the train crossing the bridge, I relocate to Riverview Park and wait for the West bound SW Chief and anything else that rolls by.
The 1st one that comes along is a 2.5 mile long container train with UP power; 4 on the point an 2 mid-train . It grinds to a halt with neither end in sight @ You can see for nearly a mile up an down the track in either direction from where I am at !
I let the camera run while I walk up and visit with some other Railfans . The vehicle had Penn. plates and the other two were from someplace a hundred miles East of St. Louis. I also noticed 2 other Fans , fanning while at the Park .
This is where it ends ! Waiting for this train to get out of the way way so I can see Amtrak, which I know is near and my AT&SF Warbonnet's when they come back through from the Wever Fertilizer Plant.
In Part 4 a few other trains pass by before Amtrak , and I am in perfect position to Pace Amtrak to the Depot .
