Rest in Peace || Importance of Disease Testing || Part 1

Описание к видео Rest in Peace || Importance of Disease Testing || Part 1

A video focusing on the true, yet tragic life of Benji the macaw, who died from Bornavirus at not even a year old. I LOVE that we want to further enrich our birds lives and meet other bird owners all over the country. But with doing so there are great risks. Birds don't always show signs if they have a disease, yet can be responsible for killing hundreds of other birds just by being in contact with them. Please keep your feathered friends safe and disease test for Bornavirus, Chlamydiosis, PBFD and Polyomavirus. Doing this can literally save lives.

I'm sorry for the insanely sad video, but this is exactly what happened to our friend. Her AVIAN VET told her that her bird looked too healthy to have a disease and now he's sadly sitting in an urn by her bed. Birds that have a disease CANNOT be in any contact with disease free birds until they are negative for that disease.

This is in no way meant to discourage people from going to their avian vets, just incase anyone gets worried! Avian vets are incredible at what they do and majority only see diseased birds when they are already showing symptoms. So much research still needs to be done about diseases so we can all have a further understanding of them.

For all worrying, Corliss is completely fine. She was a very good, little actress in this and got many nuts for participating!
