Скачать или смотреть Arduino IDE 1.0.6 (1.06) on MacOS X 10.4 "Tiger"

Just a short video to prove that v.1.0.6 can indeed be run on Tiger.

No reason to stick with the older IDEs, which gave trouble with the Unos.


A PowerMac G4 and Arduino Uno R3 were used.


=Details=

The Ardunio was the old model with the FTDI232/PL2303 style interfaces.
Newer models may include the CH34X chip, which isn't supported on Tiger,
but likely can be used on Leopard by using the CH341SER_MAC package.

Java. The installation of the new Java SDK is a bit tricky, but doable.
It involves a manual extraction of certain files, as the installer won't work.

Operating System: MacOS X 10.4.11 (retail) w/ Java 1.6DP
Arduino IDE: Release 1.0.6
Macintosh: PowerMac G4 Dual, 1GB RAM

Files required:
arduino-1.0.6-macosx.zip (70.7 MB, 74.148.870 Bytes)
Java_MAC_OS_javase6release1dp6.dmg (50.9 MB, 53.469.295 Bytes)
ch341ser_mac.zip (+Leopard, optional, 250 KB, 256.379 Bytes)
Zaber_Serial_Adapter_Drivers.zip (optional, 1.81 MB, 1.901.674 Bytes)

=Instructions=

If you can, update your copy of MacOS to 10.4.11 first.
Download the Arduino 0.22 IDE for Mac. Open the folder manually and run FTDI installer
to add support for the USB-Serial bridge. Install Java 1.6DP, then install Arduino IDE 1.06.

You can't install it via installer but go to /Volumes/Java\ SE\ 6\ Release\ 1/JavaSE6Release1.pkg/ and copy

Archive.pax.gz to your Desktop; gzip -d Archive.pax.gz and then pax or double click on Archive.pax.

Now there is the package content. Under /Your

Desktop/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/bin you can find a PPC 1.6 JDK ;-) beta

but an working 1.6 JDK.

Copy 1.6.0 to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Version .. run

/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/bin/java

Personal note: I remember that I had to do slight modifications here (Phew!, it's been a while).
Make sure the inputs match, esp. Library and other paths. Maybe also requires "su" to gain root privileges..
