SPANISH GALLEON EL GALEON VISITS WEYMOUTH DORSET

Residents and visitors to Weymouth in Dorset will have the chance to travel back in time to the Spanish Armada during this coming weekend.
The visit of El Galeon a replica Spanish Galleon from that period will be open for visitors over the next few days.
It will be berthed at Weymouth Harbour, with public access during this weekend. Its is schedule to leave the Dorset port on Monday.
El Galeon is just under 50 metres and is an exact full size replica of a 17th century Spanish Galleon a ship of the 1600s.
This type of vessel was used by the Spanish in maritime expeditions and trade between Spain, America and as far as the Philippines in the Far East.
This unique tall ship, which is also a floating museum and owned by the Nao Victoria Foundation in Spain.
