Is Investing in Beauty...harmless? Or Is It problematic??

An important conversation happened on social media over the weekend. Well...another important conversation I should say, surrounding the reasons why Women in particular, choose to invest in beauty. With one creator surmising that beauty routines in particular were tantamount to "decorating your cage" under the patriarchy. Whew!! In this video, I discuss my take on that as a woman who recently began, according to my friends, "dressing up and going out more" aka...investing in my beauty. I talk about what it's been like to "glow up", if my life has changed in any real way, and finally, what I believe is really behind the desire to participate in rituals of beautification.
