In Danny’s latest PetrolRevolt interview, we chat with Jamie Whitham! Legendary former British Motorcycle racer and latterly Commentator.

known for his incredible skills on the track and his charismatic personality off it. With a career spanning over two decades, Whitham has competed at the highest level of motorcycle racing, from the British Superbike Championship to the World Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT.

Born in Sheffield, England, Whitham began his racing career in the early 1980s, and quickly established himself as one of the most talented riders of his generation. He went on to win multiple championships, including the 1993 British Superbike Championship on a Yamaha YZF750, and became a firm fan favorite for his fearless riding style and his willingness to take on the biggest names in the sport.

Off the track, Whitham has become a well-known personality in the motorcycle world, thanks to his work as a commentator and presenter for various media outlets. He is also the author of several books about his experiences in the sport, including "What A Good Do!" and "Riding with the Wind."

In this video, we take a closer look at Jamie Whitham's incredible career, from his early days in the sport to his many successes on the track.

In 1986, Whitham won the ACU National Junior Superstock Championship. This victory opened the doors for him to compete in the British Superbike Championship, which was then in its inaugural season. Whitham made an immediate impact, finishing third in the championship standings in his first season.

Over the next few years, Whitham continued to compete in the British Superbike Championship, winning races and regularly finishing on the podium. He also competed in the World Superbike Championship.

He also competed on the Isle of Man - running in the Manx Grand Prix in 1985, and the TT from 1986 to 1989, with three top six results; and he won British championship races at Superstock, Seniorstock, Supersport 600 and TT Formula One level.

After retiring from racing in 2002, Whitham turned his attention to broadcasting. He became a commentator and presenter for various media outlets, including Eurosport and the BBC. He is known for his engaging personality and his ability to provide insight into the sport.

Jamie Whitham is a true legend of motorcycle racing. His skill, determination, and personality have made him a firm fan favorite and an inspiration to many.
