Disney's Beauty and the Beast, 1946 Regression Trailer

Описание к видео Disney's Beauty and the Beast, 1946 Regression Trailer

Inspired by Attic Pictures' regression trailers for Tarzan and Hunchback of Notre Dame, I present to you Beauty and the Beast as it may have looked like in the 1940's...and in French. Yes, this is the Jean Cocteau version mixed with the Disney one. Both are wonderful retellings of the fairy tale, and they're celebrating big anniversaries this year. Consider this my Valentines' present to you guys.

I wanted to make it looks as film-like and close to the original trailer as possible, which was for the most part pretty easy. The one tricky scene was filling in the gap where Avenant, the Gaston of the first film, slaps one of Belle's sisters, since there are no characters like that in the Disney one. Having Gaston grab Belle and throw her in the cellar didn't work, then I realized I hadn't used any moment from the wolf fight yet, so problem solved.

Sorry if the subtitles are difficult to read sometimes. I didn't take that into account when trying different filters.

Fun Fact: The last time I mixed Disney with Cocteau, I got a comment from someone claiming to be Josette Day's granddaughter wailing that I sullied her grandmother's legacy by mixing her film with the "inferior" version of the movie. Let's see if lightning strikes twice!

Still can't believe I put this together in only a few hours. And the thumbnails are perfect too!
