Dow Ruang’s* family in Burma saw her as “bad luck.” Blamed for her family’s hardships, she was passed from home to home—beaten, overworked, and often left hungry. While chained up one day, she cried out to God to save her. Miraculously, the door was left unlocked, and she was able to escape. At 14 years old, our team rescued her and brought her to safety.

She experienced her first Christmas that year, and her greatest memory wasn’t the gifts she received but the love and warmth that she felt.
Today, Dow Ruang is safe and thriving with her Life Impact family—loved, seen, and valued.

Now, she shares her rescue story at our Christmas Outreaches, telling others how God answered her desperate prayer and saved her and how He can do the same for them! The girl once rejected and exploited is now filled with hope—sharing the freedom and joy she’s found in Jesus.
