Trimper's Haunted House Ocean City MD 9/3/04

The day after Labor Day, we visited Ocean City, Maryland. We hadn't been there since our band excursion back in the year 2000. We rode as many rides as we could stomach, but the dark rides are always the ones we prefer. Built in 1964, this is one of the last designed by Bill Tracy.

Bill Tracy also redesigned the Pretzel gravity ride at Camden Park in Huntington, West Virginia in 1961 and turned it into the now classic Haunted House. There are some similarities between the two houses, especially the design of the facade and the gravity feature, but the Ocean City house is a much longer, slower ride with more to see, while the Camden Park house is a crazy fast ride with a great little hill. I love them both and won't choose a favorite.
