Kashmir, Pakistan | Solo Female Traveller Road Trip

Описание к видео Kashmir, Pakistan | Solo Female Traveller Road Trip

Travelling Kashmir as a solo female traveller has long been a dream of mine and I rather lucked out because -- until recently -- it was quite difficult to travel most parts of Kashmir without special permission. But last month the government lifted restrictions on most areas, which is wonderful news for anyone wishing to travel there.

There are no flights in or out of Azad Kashmir so the only way to arrive to this beautiful region is by road. My Kashmir road trip journey began at the Jhelum and Neelum rivers in Muzaffarabad and from the start, nothing went as planned. Come along with me as I fly from Karachi to Islamabad with bookme.pk and then travel by car to Muzaffarabad to start my adventure. I didn't end up shooting any historical sites on day 1. Instead, we drove what seemed like the entire length of Kashmir, from Muzaffarabad to Mirpur. But it was a fun day spent mesmerised by the countryside, it's breathtaking mountains, rivers and lakes, and its kind people.

Kashmir offers rugged landscapes, where around every corner you'll find paradise. Kashmiri chai is liquid gold. And it's an adventure that few embark on, making it extra alluring 😉

SHOUTOUTS IN THIS VIDEO:

BOOKME.PK
- Since January when I flew from Quetta to Lahore, I've been buying all my flights from https://bookme.pk because they have the BEST prices in Pakistan, especially went you compare buying directly from the airlines. One trick I also found is that if you pay with a local Pakistani credit or debit card, they also give a very deep discount for that (I saved almost 2k on my last flight using a friend's local credit card). They also offer bus tickets (hotels too, I think) so I'll try to book my next bus with them, too, and report back on those prices.

GHULAM
- If you need a trustworthy driver in Islamabad, Ghulam is who I use whenever I'm in town. His English is great, just whatsapp him and let him know what you need. His prices are fair and he's always been dependable with me. SORRY FOR THIS BUT HE HAS JUST ASKED ME TO REMOVE HIS # ... I GUESS TOO MANY PEOPLE WERE CALLING :-( I'LL UPDATE THIS LATER IF GHULAM CHANGES HIS MIND OR FINDS A DIFFERENT NUMBER FOR PEOPLE TO CONTACT :-)
