Campanula Catharina is a super little perennial from www.gardensplendor.com for raised beds, rock walls, spaces between stepping stones, troughs and container gardens or for the front of beds and borders
It is a beautiful selection of the Dalmatian Bellflower (C. portenschlagiana) that is more compact and better behaved (does not spread as much) as the species and some selections that hail from the Dalmatian Mountains in Croatia.
When it is not flowering it forms tight rounded clumps of bright green attractive foliage that looks great popping out between spaces in stone walls
It is hardy to Zone 4, Grows only 6-10” x about 10-12” wide, and is covered by masses of little lilac-blue bell shaped flowers in early summer, it flowers sporadically with little bursts of bloom during the rest of the summer, and usually comes again with a stronger burst in early autumn.
It grows best in well-drained conditions in sunny to partially shaded locations.
Once established it is resilient and drought tolerant, and is also tolerates shadier conditions if needed.
