The word decision comes from Latin and it literally means “to cut off”. Understanding that helps us to understand why making a decision is so hard for us sometimes. In essence, we are effectively cutting out all other possibilities at the point in time. We are making them inaccessible in that moment. Removing them from the equation.

What's one thing that fear is famous for? It's famous for making people freeze. Hence, the term "frozen in fear". What is actually happening is that our fear has made us indecisive. Since we are indecisive, we can't choose which way to go. That means we aren't moving and thus we are frozen. All because we refuse to make a decision.

In chapter 8 of his book "Think and Grow Rich" Napoleon Hill expounds on the need to be decisive. It gives us power... the power of decision. With it, we can change our world.
