Each year the Naperville Public Library offers up the Summer Reading Program. The reading program is designed for babies through adults and runs from June 1 – August 15.

There are multiple programs offered to encourage literacy among all ages and participants don’t need to be a member of the library. It’s particularly important that children and teens read during the summer months to maintain their skills and not fall behind for the next school year. Daily reading is encouraged. It’s not as much about what is read but that something is read every single day.

This year there’s more than one way to participate in the Naperville Public Library’s Summer Reading Program – you can read daily, attend a library program or join a club. Participants complete a level to receive a prize.

The Naperville Public Library also has a great collection of recommended reads for all ages, cultivated by the NPL librarians, which can be found at: https://www.naperville-lib.org/materi... Another resource is the PBS list for the Great American Read: http://www.pbs.org/the-great-american...
