In this video, Dr. Berg explains what mTOR means. mTOR or mammalian target of rapamycin is a certain pathway mainly the master controller of protein synthesis. When mTOR is high, it promotes growth in the body and even can stimulate the growth of tumors. When it’s low the pathways are different and are more on repair and maintenance of the body and stimulating autophagy.

Autophagy is the recycling of damaged proteins and old proteins into new amino acids to build new tissue.

Things that Could Spike mTOR:
• Glucose
• Amino Acids
