Episode 97. Combat aircraft in Syria. Helicopters.

This is a special episode of Combat Approved, dedicated to the Russian Air Force helicopter squadron of the aviation group in Syria. This is a unique unit which has both the newest strike helicopters Mi-28N Night Hunter and the Ka-52 Alligator, Mi-24 strike helicopters, air assault Mi-8. We’ll tell you not only about the combat aircraft, but we’ll also show you the job of the pilots and engineers at the Khmeimim air base in such details for the first time. Real combat missions, exquisite takeoffs and landings in pitch darkness, protection and escort of transport airplanes – it’s just the part of the work of the Russian helicopter pilots. We’ll also tell you about the work of the search-and-rescue detachment. Pilots, rescue workers and marines, who belong to this detachment, are always in the full readiness mode as long as there at least one Russian aircraft in the Syrian sky. In case of emergency, the rescuers should evacuate the crashed pilots even from the enemy territory.
