Heritage Convoys at Derby + Extras! 30th March 2016

Was a last minute decision to come here and was worth it in the end. Freight was sparce, but quality overruled quantity on this occasion. The main reason I came here was to catch the Class 86's on their final journey in the UK before heading overseas.

After being surplus to the requirements of the AC Traction Group, it was decided to sell four Class 86's on overseas (Six in Total, two from Long Marston). A move happened a while ago to move these 86's up to Leicester LIP, where they have been residing ever since. Orignally, these were planned to move a week before but with one reason and another, the planned move did not happen till the day this was filmed. The penny finally dropped on the 30th March 2016 where they finally made their way to Barrow Hill. They were then sent on low loaders bound for Hull.

Boden Rail's Class 50's also made a visit in the afternoon. The move was done to take 37116 in for Tyre Turning at Etches Park. They worked in the afternoon and shunted into Etches Park and dropped off the 37. They came out thirty minutes later to head back to Washwood Heath.

Here is what happened below.
