This panel discussion provides an opportunity to harness the voices of business leaders which can effectively drive decision-makers, companies and Indian leaders to act in support of SDGs for every child and protecting their health. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 to end poverty, reduce inequality and build more peaceful, prosperous societies by 2030. The government is leading efforts towards realizing the SDGs for children, but they cannot do it alone. Businesses have enormous power to improve children’s lives. Coupled with the fact that the interests of children and businesses are inextricably linked, with resilient and sustainable societies and business environments only possible if children’s rights are protected and promoted, we have an opportunity to shift the paradigm for children by working with businesses in more strategic ways than ever before. Responsible businesses that are investing in children’s rights to health, nutrition, education and protection are actually investing in their own future –a safer and more sustainable future.
