Check list for a second hand bike. Advice for used motorcycles. We have to check lots of things before buying a second hand motorcycle. Check engine, engine sound, smoke, back fire and oil leaks. Check the fuel tank for corrosion and the condition. Sprocket and chains, battery, front forks, rear shock absorber, mono shock, tires should be in good condition. Have a look at head lamp, signal lights, tail lights and indicators. Odometer reading should tally with the conditions of other parts. Original seat cover gives a great look to the bike.
The reason for selling this bike should give you a signal of some error. Body language of the seller will convey a big message. You should have the knowledge of parts with the manufacturing year. The chassis number should not tampered with. The key to the ignition will open the fuel tank and helmet holder. Have a test ride and listen to the sounds comes in. Rattling noises would be bad. Exhaust sound would be clear. Check almost all things possible. The most recommended advice is to have a guidance and inspection of a good technician. Paying a person who has the knowledge is much more profitable than bringing in a bike to repair. Pay to the correct value. Study the market value of the relevant model before go for inspection.
