DESCRIPTION:
In 2000, British business magnate Sir Richard Branson introduced Virgin Blue as Australia's first low-cost airline. Today, this airline is known as Virgin Australia and is a major player in the Australian airline market.

Virgin Australia picked up the pieces from the collapse of Ansett Australia to become Qantas' strongest competitor. However, a rebrand and a change in business strategy not only failed to win some corporate flyers and premium travellers, but also pushed the airline to financial ruin.

New ownership saved Virgin, requiring a radical change in its product offerings. This revitalisation proved promising just as Qantas found itself in the mud due to operational and customer troubles. Does their value-based approach stack up in the post-COVID airline market?
