HOT ON THE HEELS of the W210 that I reviewed recently, 'lo and behold, I got my hands on its lovely predecessor, the mighty W124! This car has so much provenance it boggles the mind. A self-import from the UK, this car was a 1-owner since new, till it was passed on to his relative, a friend of mine, last year. The best part, it has spent most of its life here, and has been 'tropicalised' for our climate, insofar as its cooling-system is concerned, yes!

A bit of background, just like me, WHO the owner of this car sells it to, is more important that how much it's sold for, thus he's been waiting for the right buyer to come along. Could it be me? Since he was in no hurry to sell her, he's done an amazing job keeping this car resplendent and running well.

This is a wonderful situation to be in insofar as an owner is concerned, and it very closely mirrored the recent sale of my beloved W126 280SE, which by the way, is heading to Kuching, Sarawak! Viewers over there, do keep an eye out for her ya, pls go say hello if u see her :)

So I'm not gonna beat around the bush to keep y'all guessing folks, YES, I bought this 1986 W124 200! It's a 1st gen, auto, 2000cc 4cyl, carburettor'd, and because it's a UK Spec, it has a working sunroof (tilt and open) and cruise control. Yeah, CRUISE CONTROL! From 1986!

It drives beautifully and comes with 15in AMG Monoblocks, which look absolutely perfect on this car. There's some small stuff to be done of course, it's more than 3-decades old after all :)

Stay tuned folks, this is gonna be a great adventure as I continue the provenance of this fine, fine automobile. The Best Or Nothing. They really meant that when they made this car.
