Neil Gaiman is best known for Sandman or his popular novels like Neverwhere and American Gods. But I take a look at the 8-issue series "1602" that he did for Marvel in 2003 through 2004. While many other comics were dwelling in trauma and pain, Gaiman's story harkened back to postmodern storytelling techniques and also used several tropes of Historial Fiction and Elizabethan Era Literature.
