I bought a Brand New in Box Vintage 1988 Numatic Henry HVR200 via Ebay - But is it really BNIB?? :-/

I was trawling through eBay one rainy afternoon and came across a listing for a "Brand new in box Numatic Henry" - so I had to have it.

After doing the usual i.e. sending money out into the ether, the machine arrived and sat in my lounge for a few weeks because I was busy and didn't have a chance to take a look at it.

When I did I was rather saddened to find that the machine is most certainly not new. However, I'm not that disappointed with my purchase because Henry is actually in lovely condition and a great addition to my collection. I never usually buy brand new vintage cleaners because I think to myself - what's the point? You can't use them. And if they are sealed in the box then you can't even look at them. Once you break that seal or run them over a carpet that's it, their uniqueness has gone.

When examining the cleaner for the first time I removed the dustbag and found a message written on it by the previous owner. I swear to you that in all my days I have NEVER seen a note written on a dustbag! I guess it's the vacuum cleaner equivalent of a message in a bottle lol.
